The Sheriff's Office promotes the safe and responsible use of firearms.  With many options for personal safety today, more and more of our citizens are choosing to carry a weapon. Knowing how to safely handle and use a firearm is great, but so is knowing when to use a firearm; therefore, we have designed a training class to educate citizens on applicable laws regarding the use of force, as well as hands-on training in the use of firearms. These firearms safety classes are primarily offered during the summer months and will be advertised on the JCSO Facebook page and the Jones County Sheriff’s Office app when scheduled.
